Marios Tsiliakos
Marios is a Partner at the Applied R+D team at Foster+Partners, expanding the boundaries of applied computation and problem solving for AECO industry.
Specializing in complex geometry, performance driven design, and interoperability, he leads the development of Hermes, Foster+Partners' in-house data exchange tool, enabling real-time collaboration among applications, machines, and locations worldwide, streamlining the design process.
Being part of Foster+Partners for more than a decade Marios worked on various projects of different scales and program. Some notable examples include the Lusail Towers in Qatar, Whiteleys London, the Sydney Metro extension, the Guangming Hub Master-plan, and the China Merchants Bank in Shenzhen.
With teaching experience gained for more than a decade across several institutions – namely the Bartlett School of Architecture, UCL, the Architectural Association School of Architecture and University of Innsbruck– Marios’ research has achieved global recognition.
Presentation Title: Applied Computation in Practice
Foster+Partners and the Applied R+D team constantly challenge the boundaries of Design Technology. In his insightful talk Marios, will showcase the team’s innovative work and research on Applied Computation and discuss, though a series of case studies, how fabrication constraints, material considerations and performance driven goals can be embedded into computational workflows, transforming the design process while setting new benchmarks in design excellence.
